SDSRM Hopper Cars are Here!
Santa came early here at the South Dakota State Railroad Museum. We have periodically ordered small batches of custom model railroad cars in the past. There was 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2017... But those of us on the board would like to see these custom cars become a regular item for sale in our gift shop and eventually our online store (yes, we're working on it.) Time for Trees and Trains!
It's that time of the season once more! The South Dakota State Railroad Museum's annual "Trees and Trains" exhibit is back again for this holiday season. The museum will be open on select dates in from Thanksgiving to the end of December. Getting Ready for Trees and Trains!
It's that time of year again! The museum will be closed to the public for the next several weeks while our staff and volunteers prepare the facility for the 2025 Trees and Trains event. The SDSRM will reopen to the public on November 26th at 2:00 PM and will be open 11-5 on selected dates which are available on the "Visit Us" page. Santa Claus is also coming to the SDSRM again! If you'd like to get photos with Santa, he'll be stopping by from 11-4 every day that the museum
