Robert and Jo Anna Warder Research Library

The South Dakota State Railroad Museum maintains an extensive collection of written and photographic media.  Robert and Jo Anna Warder have contributed immensely to the success of our operation and we are proud to dedicate our research library in their names.  Our museum library is the heart of our research operations, providing our facility, our members, and South Dakota with a valuable resource of railroad history in the state.  After a recent remodeling, the library now acts as a multimedia center, conference room, and small event center.

Collections

The Robert and Jo Anna Warder research library maintains a wide collection of artifacts in addition to written materials.  Many of these artifacts can be found on display in the museum, but much more is stored safely away for research purposes or in preparation for new exhibits.

Archives

Beyond written materials, the Robert and Jo Anna Warder research library contains a large number of digital and analog photographs, maps, charts, timetables, slides, postcards, and other visual media.  We are in the process of digitizing our photographic collection and will make more of this collection available over time.
