Ledger Art: 2025
Celebrating young artists of South Dakota!
South Dakota is a state known for its agriculture, mining, and tourism. However, the
Mount Rushmore State also has its fair share of artists! Not only is art a form of
individual expression, but it is also a way to communicate what is important and sacred
to our culture and society.
The South Dakota State Railroad Museum celebrates the young artists of South Dakota
through its Ledger Art contest. Students in grades 4-12 create art on vintage ledger
pages created by railroad dispatch personnel. For 2025 we have 66 entries from 9
different school districts across the state! To help support these young artists and the
museum, 47 of these works are for sale! Visitors to the museum are able to get up
close to these works of art and admire the talent of our state's students!
We would like to thank all participants from the following schools in South Dakota!
